It's nearly here....so Rockheads, what are your plans? Anyone staying closer to home cuz of the crazy ass gas prices? Anyone going to check out 311 & Snoop at Riverbend? (If so be sure to leave a comment here afterwards & let me know how it goes!)  As for the Sister, I have no definite plans yet for the 4th...but headed to the Southgate House on Saturday the 5th to see my favorite local band 500 Miles to Memphis- you gotta check these guys out if you get the chance! Their website is on my links on this page.... Whatever you do, I hope you have a FUN and safe holiday weekend!

The concert was awsome. Snoop Dogg was great as always. And a funny story is that a girl that was standing behind us was crying because her grandfather died from lung cnacer and was wondering why everybody was smoking.

Concert was awesome - 311 rocked it out as usual.

Adam's story of the grief stricken child humors me greatly.

Re: 4th of July Weekend....

i went to the 311/matisyahu/english beat show last year and it rocked!!! this year not so good...as much love as i have for old school hip hop, i still hate to admit snoop dogg stole the show. the entire audience was jumping around and putting their arms up in the air and snoop's band was awesome and sounded great!

311's audio was a disaster (and not a "beautiful disaster") whoever was running the sound board obviously is hearing impaired. it took them almost the entire show to get peanut's bass up to the level of the guitar, the drum snare mic was not working at all and the drums volume was so low the guitars covered them up. it wasn't until the drum solo that the drums were audible. awful set by the way, 311 was very disappointing.

i think that will be the last 311 concert i will be going to unless matisyahu comes on tour with them again and i will only go to see matisyahu, then leave. who wants to sweat their b*lls off to not hear good music???
