Rob Zombie has revealed that the long-awaited White Zombie box set is titled Let Sleeping Corpses Lie and will arrive on November 25th. The five-disc set will contain 63 tracks on four CDs, totaling more than four hours of music, while the DVD will include what the singer described as "tons of never before seen videos" at his MySpace page. Zombie also wrote about the set, "I haven't heard some of these songs in over 20 years. I don't know what the hell we were thinking."
Rob Zombie formed White Zombie in the mid-'80s on New York's Lower East Side. The band became stars in 1992 with their major label debut, La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1 and hit single "Thunder Kiss '65."
The band broke up in 1996, with Rob Zombie starting a successful solo career. He has recently been working on his fourth solo studio album.
Zombie has also been doing pre-production for his fourth film as a screenwriter and director, Tyrannosaurus Rex. The movie, about a semi-retired wrestler battling a biker gang, is slated to open on August 28th, 2009.
Tool guitarist Adam Jones spoke with RollingStone.com about the band's decision to license three songs for Guitar Hero: World Tour. Even though the quartet hasn't licensed its music out since 1996, they decided to work with Guitar Hero publisher Activision if they were allowed to be involved with the artwork and design. Jones explained, "It was a really exciting situation for us to express ourselves and work with other artists, and do something where we walked away going, 'Yeah, wow, that turned out really good.'"
The game incorporates a digital venue based on Tool's album artwork and videos. Two shots of the venue can be seen at RollingStone.com.
Jones said he and the other members of the band got a chance to play Guitar Hero while working on the game, adding that he "got a blister on his thumb" from playing it so much.
The three Tool tracks contained in the game are "Parabola," "Schism" and "Vicarious."
Guitar Hero: World Tour is set for release on October 26th.
Tool is currently taking a break following nearly two years of touring behind its last album, 2006's 10,000 Days.
Avenged Sevenfold and Buckcherry have fleshed out the details of their upcoming co-headlining tour that was rescheduled from September after Avenged singer M. Shadows went down with throat problems. As previously reported, the trek will begin on November 4th in Casper, Wyoming, with dates now confirmed through December 3rd in Orlando, Florida. Even though Avenged had to take a break to let Shadows heal, guitarist Synyster Gates told us that the band's past year of touring has been its best ever: "Oh, we've done so much. Australia, Southeast Asia, great shows, all those places are really up and coming for Avenged Sevenfold so we're really excited about that. December we did a tour with Iron Maiden in Europe -- after this, we didn't know what to do, you know? That's just pretty much it. So it's just back to focusing on ourselves and continuing that climb to wherever we're going to eventually end up."
Avenged Sevenfold's latest release is Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough, a DVD/CD set featuring a complete filmed concert as well as previously unreleased B-sides and cover tunes.
Buckcherry is supporting its recently released fourth album, Black Butterfly.
The bill will also include Shinedown and Saving Abel.
Shadows underwent four weeks of vocal rest and rehab. Avenged began a Japanese tour on Wednesday (October 15th) in Osaka.
