In addition to their rich catalog of songs -- including "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap," "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Let There Be Rock" -- they did five songs off Black Ice. Singer Brian Johnson was excited about the new material, saying after "War Machine," "It's good trying these out for the first time."

He swung from the giant bell during "Hell's Bells;" six cannons fired during "For Those About to Rock;" Angus stripped and mooned the audience during "The Jack." Drummer Phil Rudd chain smoked throughout. One thing missing from the show was the band's giant, inflatable Rosie. The train belched out flames during "T-N-T," and Brian Johnson explained, "We had to take Rosie (the giant inflatable doll) out of the set because the flames you saw coming out of the train melted her yesterday (during Monday rehearsal)." Instead, the band brought the video screens together and showed a new Rosie -- a scantily clad, full-figured woman.

There's an interesting fun fact about the region where A-C/D-C staged their kickoff show, in which trains play an important part. The town of Honesdale -- about 50 miles to the northeast of Wilkes-Barre -- claims the title Birthplace of American Railroading.

The tour continues tomorrow night with the first of two shows in Chicago. The North American leg runs through January 27th in Nashville and will include the band's two-thousandth show -- on or about December 20th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

A-C/D-C's Black Ice is the number-one album in 29 countries. It will top the Billboard Top 200 after selling close to 800-thousand copies its first week in stores, marking the band's first-ever number-one debut in the U-S. Over five-million copies of Black Ice have been shipped worldwide, combined with close to five-million in catalog sales so far this year. Asked how he thinks Black Ice stands up against their earlier albums, guitarist Angus Young tells us, "I think it's good. It stands up because there's a lot of strong songs on it. I mean that's what a band really is -- you're as good as the songs." Black Ice, available exclusively at Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and A-C/D-C-dot-com, is also number-one in Canada, the U-K, their native Australia, Germany, France, Argentina, Japan, Belgium, Finland, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland and 13 other countries.
