Five Finger Death Punch have parted ways with guitarist Darrell Roberts. Jason Hook who has performed with Alice Cooper and others will replace Roberts.
Hoobastank has launched a new version of the video for its single, "My Turn," that is interactive and allows viewers to control the action onscreen. According to a press release, the clip is designed to look like a video game and features different characters and scenarios that can be manipulated by fans watching online. In addition to the three members of the band appearing in different costumes and swapping instruments, the video also includes senior citizens, models in bikinis, and even frontman Doug Robb's in-laws.
Robb said, "You have the option to create any version of it that you want ... It's very cool and I think that the fans are gonna have fun with it."
The video can be seen at myturn.hoobastank.com.
A standard version began playing two weeks ago at all the usual outlets.
Robb says that the original lyrics for "My Turn" came from one of his brothers, who wrote it as a love song. But Robb told us that he rewrote the words to reflect some different feelings: "Maybe at the time it spoke to me in a way like, when's it gonna be my turn to get back to where I wanna be, or all these other things. And there's people in my life right now that I feel like were having questions like that. Like, 'I've done everything the way I believe I'm supposed to, you know, and yet this guy or this person or these people are ahead of me somehow, and they've taken a shortcut.' I don't know, I feel like everybody can kind of understand that feeling at some point or another."
"My Turn" is taken from Hoobastank's upcoming album Fornever, which is due out on Tuesday (January 27th). The band will perform that evening on NBC's The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
The disc follows up 2006's Every Man for Himself, which was a sales disappointment following the platinum-plus success of the group's 2001 self-titled debut and 2003's The Reason.
Hoobastank will hit the road with 3 Doors Down and Hinder beginning on January 28th at Hard Rock Live in Orlando, Florida.
Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan plans on opening an organic market in Cornville, Arizona, that will include a commercial kitchen and a tasting room for the wines he produces in nearby Sedona. According to Spinner.com, Keenan is currently adding the new sections to an already existing market, explaining, "I've been working with a few chefs around the Southwest, learning how to make spaghettis and pastas and gnocchis and various soup stocks. We're going to be packaging our own stuff right there and serving it fresh with the tastings."
Keenan already owns a small store in Jerome, Arizona, that he has turned into a retail outlet based around his band Puscifer. He told us what fans can expect when they stop by the store: "It's basically our little retail outlet. Downloading has crushed the idea of making CDs on a larger scale, so we're gonna fund our recording and fun projects by attempting to sell you T-shirts and dog toys and dildos and things. We have a tool for every job."
Keenan and his winemaking partner, Eric Glomski, will hit Whole Foods outlets in Northern California next month for bottle-signing events. The pair will sign bottles from both Keenan's Caduceus Cellars and Glomski's Page Spring Cellars. Both men have their own cellars and vineyards in the Sedona region, and are also partners in Arizona Stronghold Vineyards.
Meanwhile, Puscifer will make its live debut with three sold-out shows in Las Vegas on February 13th, 14th, and 15th.
