Green Day’s new album ‘21st Century Breakdown‘ has been given a tentative May 15th release date.

Godsmack have begun writing for their upcoming new album which will likely drop sometime in 2010. Front-man Sully Erna has also just finished up work on his first solo record which currently has no title or release date. Sully describes the album as a “huge departure” from anything he’s ever done.

Godsmack singer Sully Erna has completed work on his first solo album, although he has yet to reveal a title or release date for the disc. Instead, the New England-based Erna has been spending a lot of time in Los Angeles lately, where he told us he's taking a different approach to getting his new music heard: "What we're doing right now is just speaking with a lot of different film companies to see what movies are coming out this year and next year and trying to attach some of the songs to that, 'cause it's a very different kind of sounding record. It's definitely a huge departure from anything I've ever done."

Erna also confirmed that writing is underway for Godsmack's fifth studio album and first collection of all-new material since 2006's IV, with the record likely to come out in 2010.

In late 2007, the band released a greatest hits collection called Good Times, Bad Times -- Ten Years of Godsmack and announced that it was going on hiatus. Erna worked on his solo album during this period, while the other three members of the group started a side project called Another Animal.

According to my sources Godsmack IS CONFIRMED for Cruefest this year! The official lineup will not be released until March 16th.

hay chad, mike, dainel and ryan, i love you guys so much.
i want to see you play live but i cant here is the story. i am 14 my parents just broke up and my mum cant afford to pay to see you at the o2 arena london on the 28th may 09. my mum then said i will pay for it she went online to the o2 arena websit they were sold out i was so upset.
we then found another website but the tickets cost another £175 more than the ones on the o2 site mum said no to expensive. i dont think my dad can pay for it either so i was wondering if you guys could help me . I was wondering if you could give three tickets to your concert for a cheap price.
i am sooooooooo desperate to see you guys you are the best canadian rock band ever i no loads of you songs and i am in working progress to playing some of the introductions of your songs on my guitar.

Hey JD, you were a trip on the radio yesterday talking to Sully from Godsmack. You seemed disinterested as hell when he was rambling about his classic/tribal music that he has done solo and is "not rock". Just for the record he was losing me too with the rambling...Get back in the studio Sully and make some hard core sh*t!
