Drowning Pool singer Ryan McCombs' three-year-old son, Ayden Rose, was seriously injured in a riding lawn mower accident that left severe damage to his right leg, according to Blabbermouth.net. Further details on when and how the accident occurred have not been made available, but Ayden will reportedly need multiple surgeries and has a long road of recovery ahead of him. McCombs' family and friends are asking those who can to help raise funds for the astronomical medical bills, with a benefit concert already scheduled for September 19th in Dallas at Reno's Chop Shop.
The benefit will feature six local bands, as well as an auction and raffle featuring items donated by friends in the music and sports industry.
Halestorm will release a live CD/DVD on October 19th called Live In Philly 2010, according to Tunelab Music. Details on the release and what it will contain will be revealed in the next few weeks. The Pennsylvania-based band has been on the road for more than a year in support of its self-titled 2009 debut album, which features the singles "I Get Off," "Love/Hate Heartbreak" and "Familiar Taste Of Poison."
Halestorm is currently opening for Stone Sour, Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold and Hellyeah on the Uproar Festival tour, and we asked frontperson Lzzy Hale what it was like touring with all those guys as the only woman on the trek: "One of the most incredible things just from hanging out with all of these boys is that they're incredibly nice. And I'm gonna completely ruin their reputations, but they really -- I mean, they're smart men you can actually have a conversation with, and it's incredible like how supportive they are to each other and to all of the opening bands. It's just a complete pleasure to just be in the company of these guys."
The Uproar Festival stops on Tuesday night (August 31st) in Bristow, Virginia.
Following this trek, Halestorm will make their first trip to Japan in October to play at the 2010 Loud Park Festival.
Godsmack has confirmed most if not all of the dates on the band's upcoming fall North American tour, just a few days after the first few gigs were revealed. According to AntiMusic, the trek now begins on September 28th in Hollywood, Florida, with shows set through November 4th in Los Angeles. A statement from the band said, "Godsmack's stage show has become legendary . . . This marks the Massachusetts quartet's first proper cross-country trek since (fifth album) The Oracle was released on May 5th, 2010, and it's bound to be one for the books."
Drummer Shannon Larkin told us that the band intends to mix up its set list this time around: "I know people like to hear the hits and all that, but it's a catch-22 there, because then our real, most hardcore following, you know, they always go online, 'All they play is the radio songs!' you know. We're like, well, wow, we -- where's that balance, you know. So we're trying to balance really well this fall and make it to where we, you know, we can appease the hardcore fans with some B-cuts too."
Support on the tour will come from Five Finger Death Punch and Drowning Pool on most of the dates.
