Jack White took to Instagram on Saturday (February 8) to address fans’ expectations for extra-long live performances, stating that the length of a show does not determine its quality. White praised legendary acts like The Beatles and Ramones who “played 30 minute (ish) sets,” while admitting that, “If I could, I would do the same at this moment in my performing life. That’s actually the kind of show I’d like to put on right now.” White expressed his preference for shorter, impactful sets, and emphasized that a performance should “leave everyone exhausted and inspired (hopefully) and most of all wanting more, without needing 3 hours to do it.” White is currently on the road as part of his ongoing No Name Tour, which covers songs from throughout his celebrated career, all without using a setlist, something the former White Stripes frontman has never used during his live performances. “Love to all of our fans,” White concluded his post. “I see your faces every night and you can be assured I’ve never phoned it in in my life.” (Loudwire)
